The 1st April will see Statutory Minimum wages increasing so you may have already taken the opportunity to carry Wage Reviews for your team, to ensure you meet the new requirements and also ensure your team continue to feel fairly rewarded for their contribution.

But have you considered your overall Employment Package?
It is important for retention of your valuable team members as well as attracting new talent to consider what perks and benefits you offer your employees.
The benefits you offer will differ based on your industry, your business culture and your budget. There's no one size fits all, you will know your team best to understand what things they are likely to value.
When considering your Employment Package, you should consider what your budget is as well as what will work for your business. For example, while it is nice to offer additional time off to your team – you need to consider whether your business can support that. You should also consider whether the benefits you offer could have tax implications, there are some which may have an added tax benefit for both you and the employee but others that may have a P11d requirement.
A few ideas to get you started could be:

· Bacon Roll Thursday/ Hot Food Friday
· Birthday Day off
· Moments that Matter – celebrating life milestones by giving your team member time off for their childs first day at school, getting the keys to a new home, a wedding, the list could go on
· Paw-ternity Leave – time off when adopting a puppy or dog
· Duvet Days/ Mental Health Days
· Corporate Memberships – such as National Trust for Scotland or with Live Active (Perth & Kinross Only)
· Volunteering Days – allowing your team to give back
Or if you want to consider the more ‘traditional’ offerings, these could include:
· Enhanced Pension contributions over and above the statutory 3% Employers Contribution
· Enhanced Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Pay over and above statutory
· Increased Holiday Allowance (over and above statutory 28 days)
· Enhanced Company Sick Pay
· Employee Assistance Scheme – providing mental health and general support for life’s down times (highly recommend BHSF)
· Employee Discount Schemes – Apps such as Caboodle, PerkBox and Reward Gateway all offer employee discounts on high street shops
· Flexi Time – Not just Hybrid/Remote Working Options, true flexi time.
· Life and Medical Insurance
